Wintery Layouts

Here are two layouts I completed using Dea Spina’s Block It All Templates from Digitals. I am traditionally a 1 photo type scrapper but wanted to move outside the box and do a few multiple photo layouts.
I kept them very simple as I wanted to focus on the photos themselves. I was very pleased how they turned out.

Journaling reads:

Isak had so much fun up on the mountain. I love how each photo captures
a different expression. I had a blast watching you. Lately I have had
to pretty much beg to take your photo but not this day. Jan 13/08/

10th Birthday

Today is Isak’s birthday but we had his party a week early as Danny and Sally were leaving for Korea on January 25th. Isak wanted to be sure they could come to his party.

Journaling reads:

January 19, 2008

Isak had his 10th birthday party this afternoon. He had 6 kids, Danny, Jun, Bradley, Chantal, Rowyn, and Allie. Danny’s sister Sally also stayed for the party. Chantal’s Dad Gord, did a magic show and balloon creations at their request. The 6 of them gobbled up 2 large pizza’s and almost all of the ice cream cake we ordered. Isak then opened his gifts. He got some awesome presents. I believe the kids had a good time. All in all a pretty good day.

Natural Beauty

A photo I took with my new Pentax camera when we climbed up Cypress Mountain. I have always wanted to take photos with the blurred background and I am learning just that. January 2008

Some Layouts

I have been trying to do a layout a day and am pretty close.

Just posting a few pages I have done recently. I am liking a more simple approach to scrapping. I so admire Sharon from Two Little Pixels, I subscribe to her blog and her layouts are so impressive. There is no clutter, the layouts aren’t over embellished. One photo a few elements and she has created a gorgeous layout.

CKC Seattle

I had a couple of the gals take a few photos of me when I was at the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Seattle this past November. I used one of Michelle Underwood’s Quick Pages for the photos. I adore Michelle’s kits and snap them up as soon as I can. There are a few I don’t have but am looking to get them.

Wii-jury

I bought Isak a Wii for Christmas and I have had fun playing with him. He went away for a couple of weeks to my Dad’s so he has been playing every chance he gets! Of course now that school is back in, that is after his homework is done!

I had the unfortunate pleasure of being the first one with an injury from playing as seen below in my layout.
I cried my heart out it hurt so bad and I felt sick to my stomach. I can’t remember feeling pain like that.

Journaling reads:
I was the one who got the 1st injury from playing the Wii. I was bowling and hit my thumb on the table. It hurt so badly!

New Blog

I set up a new blog……for what, I have no idea. I like the graphics and they layout of it. I guess that is why. I sure wish that Blogger would allow us to change templates easily. That is one reason I like WordPress, the ease of changing templates.

Anyway, the new blog is:

http://i-scrap-because.blogspot.com

Not much on it right now other than a few photos of my new camera.
I can’t decide whether to use that for my layouts for 2008 or not.

The Joker

My first official layout of 2008, I love this picture of Isak when he went to Park Tilford Gardens with Katie and Kim.
They have an evening where they turn on the Christmas lights in the park and they have hot chocolate, pizza, face painting, and story telling. A real family night activitiy. Isak requested a balloon hat and the woman made it in the shape of a joker’s hat. When he went to get his face painted the woman matched the hat. The photo surely doesn’t do the paint job justice. It was awesome……and a shame that he had to wash it off. I am glad I took photos.
